2. If you have AOL or MSN as your ISP, the default browser that is provided with these ISPs may not be compatible with the web portal. You are advised to launch either Internet Explorer, Netscape or Firefox from the Start Menu once you are connected to the internet using your ISP.

3. Cookies must be enabled within the browser for the portal to work correctly.

To check if the cookies are enabled or not:

  • In Internet Explorer, click "Tools" | "Internet Options" | "Privacy", verify that the setting is not set to "Block All Cookies".
  • In Netscape, click "Edit" | "Preferences" | "Advanced", verify the option "Accept All Cookies" is selected.
  • In Firefox, click "Tools" | "Options" from the menu | click on the "Privacy" icon | click on the "Cookies" tab and check "Allow sites" to set cookies.

4. Popups must be enabled within the browser for the portal to work correctly.

To check if Popups are allowed or not:

  • If you are using IE 6.0 on Windows XP SP2, you can manage Popups on the Tools menu. Go to the "Tools" menu, and click "Internet Options". Go to the "Privacy" tab at the bottom of the page, see the box next to "Block Popups". If the box is checked, you are blocking Popups. If you click the box to uncheck it, Popups are un-blocked. If the box is already unchecked, leave it alone. Click "OK" to close the Internet Options window.
  • If you are using Netscape, click "Tools" | "Popup Manager" | click "Allow Popups".
  • If you are using Firefox, click "Tools" | "Options" from the menu | click on the "Content" icon | uncheck the "Block Popup Windows" box. If you want to block Popup windows then check the "Block Popup Windows" box, but make sure you add accd.edu to the "Allowed Sites". To do that, if the box is checked click on "Allowed Sites" and type accd.edu in the "Address of web site:" box and click "Allow" | click "Close" on the "Allow Sites" window and "OK" on the options window.
  • If you have a Yahoo Tool Bar or Google Tool Bar installed on your browser and the Popup blocker is enabled, You might get an error "Session Expired" when you try to open your e-mail window, and PALS may log you out. To prevent getting logged out from PALS, disable the Popup Blocker on the tool bars.

If you can log in to PALS but cannot go to your WebCT course, Please try the following:
