TEXTBOOKS : "MS Visual Basic 6.0" by Shelly Cashman

OFFICE HOURS : Will be posted on my office door. These are intended primarily for on campus students. Web-based students will find use of electronic communication much more effective.

ATTENDANCE :  As a web student, if you turn in your homework on time and take your tests when required, you don't need to worry about attendance. If you don't, expect receiving one or more email messages from me. Repeated failure to reply to such messages will be grounds for being dropped

HOMEWORK : In this course we will be covering the elementary visual programming concepts. Your homework will consist of 5 or more computer assignments that can be found on the schedule page. You will acquire some hands-on experience by doing preparation activities found in the lab portion of your textbook.

LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. EXCUSES ARE RARELY ACCEPTED; THEY ARE ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION.

UNIT EXAMS : All exams will be multiple choice, T/F and mix/match. These will require the use of the blue NCS scantron sheets, (form # :19641) which you are responsible for purchasing and bringing for the exams. The exams may cover any material introduced in class as well as reading assignments. The dates for these exams are given on the attached calendar. No make-ups will be given except in case of (well documented !) emergency.

  3. Final.........................................25%  ………….25%

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNMENTS, LABS AND SCHEDULE

Do not confuse "start dates" and actual exam and due dates.

Click the schedule page for assignment submission requirements.

WWW class  assignments have to be emailed by the due date given on the schedule page. The following is a list of most common unacceptable excuses :

You are responsible for all the material covered in lab chapters even if you did not go through all the exercises.

I will send you the homework grade in an email message. Keep it! If you don't receive it within a 72 hours (excluding weekends) after sending the homework, let me know.

If you are unable to take the exam during the test week, you need to let me know at least one week in advance. I might be able to arrange for you to take the test (or turn your homework in) earlier.
