At least one month prior to the beginning of the semester in which you plan on taking your Accounting Internship course (ACNT 2386), you should contact Mr. Curt Lezanic.  He is the St. Philip’s College Job Assistance Center Coordinator.  His telephone number is (210)-531-3468, and his email address is lezanic@accd.edu. 

 

Mr. Lezanic will assist you in your placement at an accounting internship work site.  He will review your resume, and provide you with other interviewing advice to help make sure that you are “job-ready.”  He has a list of various businesses that have expressed an interest in employing an accounting internship student. 

 

NOTE:  You, the student, should also be performing your own job search to ensure that you will be placed in an accounting work site in a timely manner.  Do not rely entirely upon the efforts of the St. Philip’s College Job Assistance Center to find a job. 

Students not working by Monday, September 15, 2008, will be dropped from the course.

As soon as you are placed at an accounting internship work site, contact your Accounting Internship Coordinator, Mr. Woodie Castleberry, and give him the following information:

 

(1)   Name, address and telephone number of the business entity in which you will be working.

(2)   Name, telephone number and email address of your immediate supervisor
.

(3)   Your anticipated weekly work schedule listing the days of the week and anticipated hours per day you will be working (for example: Mondays-from 12:00PM to 3:00PM; Tuesdays-from 12:00PM to 3:00PM; Wednesdays-from 11:00AM to 2:00PM; Thursdays-from 1:00PM to 4:00PM, and Fridays-from 12:00PM to 4:00PM).  Remember, you must work approximately 256 hours at the work site in order to satisfy the internship work requirement.  This equates to an average of 16 hours per week over a regular 16-week semester, or 32 hours per week over an 8-week summer semester.
