St. Philip's College
Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

The QEP focuses on students' critical thinking skills.  Over the course of their studies at St. Philip's, students will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and demonstrate the ability to:

  1. pose vital questions and identify problems, formulating them clearly and precisely
  2. gather relevant information and interpret it effectively
  3. impartially consider alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing assumptions, implications, and practical consequences
  4. develop well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, checking them against relevant criteria and standards
  5. communicate effectively with others in determining solutions to complex problems

SPC uses direct assessments to measure students' critical thinking skills as well as process assessment to continuously improve implementation.
